All we can say is wow, what an amazing evening! We had a very successful turnout of guests, donations and silent auction bids. The fundraiser itself started at 5:00pm, guests started arriving and checking into the front. All the people attending were very generous about the “by donation” cost. There wasn’t one person in that room that wasn’t excited to come and help us reach our goal to raise as much money as we could for our community. As the guests started to fill up the O bistro at the Oswego hotel, the bar line up got longer and the silent auction got busier. Everyone was extremely happy to be there, mingling and enjoying the amazing food provided by the O bistro themselves.
 
The silent auction would not have been as successful as it was without the amazing donors and the ongoing support that we had. Not to mention the variety of guests that attended: incredible local businesses, the supportive shelter representatives and our forever dedicated clients; we could not have done it without everyone so a big thanks to you if you helped in anyway. 
 
The middle of the evening arrived. Tasha and Saira made an amazing speech about how much the fundraiser means to the team and our community, it could not have gone any better. The girls spoke about how 100% of the money raised goes towards four local shelters here in the community: Victoria Women’s Transition House, The Cridge Centre for the Family, Margaret Laurence House and Sooke Transition House Society. $5,040 was raised within two hours – wow – and all of the generous donations will directly go towards helping women and children through the local shelters and Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.
 
The evening is coming to a close and the guests were starting to get prepared to leave. We closed the silent auction and gave the exciting news to the winners. The guests proceeded to leave, the winners came up to claim their purchases and we did a preliminary count to close the incredibly successful evening. We organized everything from cash donations to the generous cheques and found out we broke our goal of $5,000! We could not have been more grateful of everyone in that room that evening and also for everyone else that contributed or helped us along the way. All four shelters are going to benefit immensely from that evening and there is nobody left to thank but you – so thank you!
