Canada’s National Gingerbread Showcase

Where: Inn at Laurel Point
When: November 23 - January 5, 9 am - 9 pm
Come and enjoy the creative inspirations constructed out of gingerbread. There isn’t only Gingerbread Houses, but also sculptures and unique works of art created by professionals and amateur chefs. Vote for your favourite creation and make a donation to Habitat for Humanity Victoria in the process. A mouth-watering experience that leaves a lasting impression not only for your eyes, but also for your stomach. You also have the opportunity to enjoy a festive Gingerbread Tea at the AURA and a portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the Habitat for Humanity.

Festival of Trees

Where: The Bay Centre
When: November 18, 2015 - January 5, 2016
Victoria Festival of Trees creates a lush Holiday forest of beautifully decorated trees to raise funds for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. It consists of sponsors, local businesses, organizations and individuals come together and decorate trees in many different ways. Visitors are invited to browse through the beautiful, wacky displays and donate to vote for their favourite trees.

 

8th Annual Centennial Square Tree Light up

Where: Centennial Square, Downtown Victoria
When: Saturday November 28 – December 20, 2015
Enjoy the beautiful lights at Centennial Square presented by the DVBA and the City of Victoria. The lights switch on at 5pm 

and the atmosphere brings out the Holiday spirit. The light up itself takes place on November 28th from 4:00-5:30pm where you can enjoy treats, music and holiday celebrations.

 

DVBA Ferris Wheel

Where: Centennial Square, Downtown Victoria
When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Nov 28th - Dec 20th
Presented by the DVBA, along with the Centennial Square Light up, you can also enjoy the Ferris Wheel Ride. Enjoy a ride that is about 20m about the square while viewing the spectacular lights that Downtown Victoria has to offer. Listen to live music, take pictures and have fun! Rides are $2 a person and require the rider to be 2 years old and at least 36 inches.

 

Christmas at the Castle

Where: Craigdarroch Castle, 1050 Joan Crescent
When: Tuesday December 1 – Thursday December 31
There are many great things the the Craigdarroch Casltle has to offer this Holiday Season. There will be a various amount of things to do such as childrens entertainment, daily tours and nightly performances – visit their events page for more details 

 

Deck the Hall – Winter Lights Festival

Where: Saanich Municipal Hall, 770 Vernon Ave

When: Saturday December 5 from 5pm-830pm
Get into the holiday spirit this season and enjoy a festive light display and a variety of activities at the Saanich Municipal Hall. There are many different activities for the whole family to enjoy such as photos with Santa, Christmas concerts, horse and carriage rides all while enjoying fresh food and drinks.

 

Celebration of Lights

Where: Esquimalt Plaza, 1153 Esquimalt Rd
When: Sunday December 6 from 6pm-8pm
Welcome the Christmas season with Esquimalt’s Celebration of Lights. The parade will start at 6:00pm on Canteen road and continues onto Esquimalt road. It will finally end up at Archie Browning Centre to end the evening with Christmas fun. Enjoy Christmas carols, food, lights, and a visit with Santa.

 

Live Christmas Tree Village

Where: Esquimalt Recreation Centre and Archie Browning Sports Centre
When: Sunday December 6 – Sunday December 26
Bring out the Christmas Magic with the living Christmas Tree Village. Numerous trees are decorated by local businesses and communities. Join the fun by taking in the beauty of the trees and voting for your favourite pick. During December 15th and 22nd the Christmas Café will be featuring live music in the atrium with cookies and coffee. Once the holiday fun is over, the trees will be planted in Esquimalt Parks.

 

IEOA Truck Light Convoy and Food Drive

Where: The trucks will leave the Ogden Point parking lot then continue on throughout the city and the final spot will be Western Speedway
When: Saturday December 5 from 5:45pm-8:30pm
A fun filled evening is ahead of you with 80 trucks travelling throughout the capital region all decorated for the holidays. Western Speedway is the final stop for the event but there are many spots throughout their trip. Admission is by cash or non-perishable food items. Enjoy a nice cup of coffee or hot chocolate paired with a hot dog all by donation in support of the Mustard Seed Food Bank, Westshore Christmas Hamper Fund Society and Sidney Lions Food Bank.

Father Christmas in Old Town

Where: Royal BC Museum, 675 Belleville St
When: Friday December 4 – Sunday December 20 (weekends only)
Visit the Royal BC Museum and visit Father Christmas in Old Town. Between 11-3pm on the weekends, enjoy a great holiday atmosphere, get a photo taken and share your holiday wishes.
