Can you help sell my parent’s house in Victoria if I live in another province?

Yes. Most of the families Sonya helps live outside Victoria. Consultations happen by video, documents are signed electronically wherever possible, and Sonya handles everything that needs a person on site.

Can a house be sold under power of attorney in BC?

In many cases, yes. It depends on what the document authorizes, and the Land Title Office has its own requirements. A power of attorney made in another province may need to be reviewed by a BC lawyer. Sonya will flag what’s needed early and work with your lawyer or notary.

Can we sell a parent’s house before probate is granted?

An executor usually needs the grant of probate before the sale can complete, but much of the work can start sooner, including valuation, clearing the home and preparing it for market. Your lawyer will confirm timing, and Sonya will plan the sale around it.
